The team behind this game apparently bet all of their coins on this one innovation alone holding up the entire project, which is exactly why NSMBW feels extremely lackluster when you take this one change away. This game’s biggest (and only) gimmick is the fact that it supports up to four players in its multiplayer mode. NSMBW is a great example of why the platforming titles are kind of forgettable to me. I didn’t grow up with old school Mario, so my best memories of him are of his most recent and more extravagant 3D adventures. I like innovation in my Mario games, or at least a little bit of flair to make me think that what I’m experiencing is brand new and fresh. When I think of a fun Mario adventure, my mind immediately rushes to something like Galaxy, with its incredible open-world exploration, or just any of the Mario Kart titles. 15h 42m Played For some reason, the platforming Mario games never really stuck with me in the same way that his other games from different genres did.
